Headaches affect a lot of people, and can be very debilitating. Because headaches are so common, most people think that getting a headache is a normal part of life. This is simply not true. Headaches are a sign that something is wrong.
Chiropractic can and should be used in all stages of pregnancy. That's why every day pregnant women are receiving chiropractic care worldwide. During pregnancy chiropractic focuses on balancing joint and muscular dysfunction in the body to relieve pressure off the nervous system. Treatment has been shown to not only make pregnancy more enjoyable but also aids in an easier delivery.
WHAT IS THE GUT MICROBIOME?
This is the home base for the bacteria in your digestive tract. Your body is host to thousands of bacteria, viruses and fungi, collectively known as the human microbiome. The largest population of microorganisms is located in the large intestine (gut microbiome). Here, they help break down food and turn nutrients into things your body can use. They stop growing when they run out of food, so you'll only have what you need. Stool samples are commonly used to assess the gut microbiome.

LEG PAIN & SCIATICA
WHAT IS SCIATICA?
Sciatica is a severe pain in the leg caused by compression, irritation, or inflammation of the sciatic nerve. The nerves are the largest nerves nerves in the body. These nerves provide innervation to your thigh, knee, calf, ankle, foot and toes. Each sciatic nerve is composed of five smaller nerves that leave the spinal cord via openings in the lower parts of your spinal column. These nerves join together and travel down the back of each leg to just below the knees where they divide into smaller nerves continuing to your feet and toes. The pain resulting from irritation or compression of these nerves is referred to as sciatica.
Accurate diagnosis in the area of neuromusculosketal disorders is often a tricky job. Most of the time, when a patient presents with a certain set of symptoms, there may be several different possible causes.
Are you Lopsided?
Many individuals develop imbalance and pain as a result of a leg-length inequality (LLI). If one leg is longer, it is similar to driving around with one car tire bigger than the others. The centre of gravity changes as weight is transferred to one side of the body. Your shoes will wear unevenly. One foot, ankle, knee and hip will be under more stress, and there will eventually be compensatory changes above the pelvis as the balance of the spine is altered. Scoliosis develops with eventual premature joint degeneration on one side of the spine. Whatever you call it--short leg syndrome, leg length difference, leg length inequality, or LLI-- it is quite common and can have surprisingly profound effects on your well being.
PINCHED NERVES-SCIATICA-LOW BACK PAIN-NECK AND ARM PAIN
While the inter-vertebral disc is a common culprit in spine related health problems, its function is widely misunderstood. Discs can bulge, herniate, or rupture, resulting in other problems.
My neck and shoulders are constantly tight!
One of the most common conditions that patients suffer from these days is upper back and lower neck pain. The condition is often referred to as an 'upper-cross syndrome or cross-fix pattern'. This condition has become more and more common partly because as a society we are sitting more and more. The bottom line is that when you sit for long periods, you develop poor posture. Long term overload of the balancing muscles of the neck and back causes chronic tight muscles, as well as pulling against vertebra of the neck causing nerve irritation, headaches, and other painful stress related symptoms. Chiropractic treatment is very successful in treating these kinds of problems.
UPPER LEG/THIGH PAIN
I have lost count of the number of people I have seen in the last month having been diagnosed with Bursitis of the hip. In some instances their diagnosis is correct and responds well to conservative chiropractic treatment. However, I have seen many instances where the cause of the patient's pain is due to completely different causes.
Upper thigh pain can occur in the muscles, tendons, joints and even bones in the pelvis region. It is often caused by repetitive stress movements during sports or rigorous activities, but it can also be caused by ageing or certain diseases. Very commonly the pain is referred from structures in the pelvis or low back. Upper thigh pain symptoms can vary from mild aching to more severe or acute pain.
Are you inflamed and you don't know?
Chronic Inflammatory diseases have reached epidemic levels in industrialized countries. According to the 2014-2015 National Health Survey, half of all Australians live with a chronic inflammatory disease such as arthritis, asthma, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, autoimmune disease and cancer.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE: A GREAT FATHER'S DAY GIFT
Father's Day is just around the corner, meaning it's almost time to celebrate everything that dads do. Often times dads are the last ones to complain about what they must do for their families, the sacrifices they make to provide food on the table and a roof overhead. All dads really want is a healthy and happy family! The sacrifices dads make aren't always recognised, and Father's Day is a day to take a step back and share our gratitude to the dads in our lives. Dads have your back, and now it's time to make sure you have your dad's back this Father's day!

No doubt you've heard the term 'pinched nerve' before, but what, exactly, does it mean? As children we learn that being pinched hurts! Because the term is so descriptive, people continue to insist that they have a 'pinched nerve' whenever they experience pain, numbness, burning, or a 'pins and needles' feeling.
Low back pain is the most common condition we treat in our office, and we improve or resolve over 90% of those cases. Low back pain is challenging to treat because it can come from many different sources. What surprises me the most is how often the source of the low back pain is misdiagnosed. There are many causes of low back pain, but by far the most common cause is dysfunction of the sacroiliac joint.
